Here I tried the Pentagram Spread. My question was about whether I could be happy (in body, mind, and spirit) with photography as a career move.
With this spread, the card order is like this:
1. Foundation of the matter. Card: Words of the Magus.
2. Far-reaching consequences and influences. Card: Cakes & Wine
3. Direction and Movement. Card: Initiation
4. Change to expect. Card: The Greenman
5. What binds it all together. Card: The Crossroads
6. Ties it all and renders answer. Card: As Above, So Below.
The first card, the foundation of the matter... is about completion and achievement. The second is about nourishment, more about who you are than what you do, finding inner peace and balance.
The third card is about challenges that lead to wider perspectives & opportunities, trust and endurance.
The fourth was about survival, about prosperity, growth, adundance. Look to nature as teacher, motivator.
The fifth card is about a decision that needs to be made. One on path is your heart and emotions, on the other the practical side. Take a risk. New opportunity through change.
The sixth card says that what shows up in your life is a reflection of your beliefs, thoughts, words, and deeds. So take a look at your life (and within).
The meaning that gleaned from this reading is:
The issue is about me being complete as a person, whether or not I do photography. And that I can be complete either way. It is about who I am, not what I do. My attitude! Through challenges my eyes can be opened, doors opened. I can expect to survive, to find growth and prosperity if I meet the challenges. I just need to choose... either follow my heart or my mind. However I choose and however I conduct myself within that choice will decide if I am happy. So, if I choose to have a good attitude, no matter what, I can find myself feeling complete.
Keep in mind this is a practice reading, and I did it for myself... so I may have influenced my own reading with my biases. If you have any familiarity with these cards, or think you have a different meaning to the reading, I would love to hear about it.
Another note:
This wasn't the only reading I did for practice today. And the first reading had the Crossroads card as well... decisions, decisions! Also, the Reincarnation card was in the first reading, and then fell out of the deck while I was shuffling at another time. So I suppose renewal, and restoring vitality is in the air. Or maybe I shall be renewed through whatever decision I make!
