Beltane

Well, I hope that everyone who celebrates had a wonderful Beltane. Beltane is May Day, when we celebrate the union of the Goddess and the God. It is a celebration of fertility and healing. Some activities people do for fun may be the May Pole, jumping the Beltane fires, and giving of tokens, like flowers.

I, myself, spent much of the day helping out my family as needed, and prepping for Beltane. I am a solitary, so I celebrated alone. I did research to find if there was anything happening nearby, but alas, nothing. Here, I have a few photos of the space I used this year. I didn't use much in the way of extraneous decorations this year, but hopefully next year I shall have a larger space, or I shall have somewhere to go and maybe celebrate with others.

And here is a way that illustrates how you never know what life will throw at you.

I've decided that I would like to spend some of my free time on weekends either taking my classes with WSI or trying to write. I spend so much time reading and reading that I don't leave myself much time to do anything else. This weekend I have already taken care of four of my classes (and I'll do a couple more today).

Next weekend I shall be participating in a walk/run call the Buffalo Boogie. It benefits the Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge. People are even allowed to bring their dogs along for the run, which I shall be doing. I will see about taking photos if I can.
