It has been quite some time since I have posted. Part of this was that I completely forgot my password to my account. I now will never forget it!
Since I last posted much has happened. I have found some pagan friends in my area, and even joined a coven. In November I was dedicated. We meet every week, on Wednesday, for a class. We missed a couple Wednesdays this last few weeks because of a hectic holiday season and cold weather. Besides reading and research, we also do crafts. We have made matchbox altars, and beaded necklaces.
This Imbolc, we will be crafting Brigid Dolls and candles.
We have also discussed Tarot. I am having so much fun learning the tarot cards. The cards I am using are the Robin Wood Deck.
Part of our process is just studying each card individually. For intuitive feelings and for symbolism. To find meanings that work for us individually. We also study the generally accepted meanings of the cards, as well as the information provided with an individual deck...and what the artist/creator wanted them to mean. I really am enjoying learning about tarot. I haven't actually done any readings as yet. I am still learning the cards.
Besides the tarot, we have also started doing "homework." More recently the homework was reading from Ann Moura's Green Witchcraft books 1 and 3. The first 3 classes in The Manual, and Chapter 7 in the first book.
A couple of the most important points in that reading is the Rules of Conduct, as well as Ritual structures. Another notable point about the reading was the importance of meditation to a practitioner of the craft. I would quote more, but I would prefer not to quote without permission. Honestly, I have read both of those books several times before. Always on my own. They are so good, I don't mind reading them again with the coven.
The homework after that was researching Imbolc. As part of this I am also to look at food, games, crafts, traditions and rituals that would happen on the day. I am thinking that is all good information to post closer to the day.
